The departing Gregorian year of 2011 has been a tremendous year from previously. There have been a lot of occasions, events and what's important was my 30th year of blessed life.
Meanwhile, my career is getting more established. There were many projects and tasks, but all were handled effectively. Plus, I was entrusted with some managerial duties, which I guess a good exposure for future career prospect.
Speaking of which, the Year of Rabbit (according to Chinese reckoning) also seen many improvements for my self-development and esteem. However, I am still hapless in finding a life partner, or a in other words, I'm still single and neglected.
Despite the prosperity and happiness, I will not forget this year as the year the family mourned over the death of my late grandmother, also the death of our dear friend in Australia which overshadowed our April. To them both, al-Fatihah.
Here's the retrospect of my 2011, selected from my Facebook status. Some stats may have photos, and some may not. It's easier to read and follow the events chronologically.
I will keep on writing empirically as I do best. For 2012, I hope much to find the love of my life and better opportunities.

Sometimes the canvas reflects colours and art which you didn't wish to design according to your desire. The canvas isn't impressive enough to be exhibited at prestigious events or established art galleries. How pitiful and sad to see unwanted and obsolete masterpiece. You keep on painting with painful heart and dedication but still fail to impress. Then the canvas is torn, and the cycle goes on again and again, failure after failure. The canvas would become a classic once you are gone (lucky enough), but usually forgotten deep into despair.

Problems with Malay beauty product ads are: lack of BM proficiency (taking the language for granted) resulting in grammatical, syntax and spelling mistakes, overgeneralized English terms (to spice up the products, they say), cramming info and testimonials (as well as stockists) in one space (excluding graphics and statistics), typical Malay approach to these products and of course, inadequate educated entrepreneurs in effective advertising. So please, my dear Malaysians, cintai bahasa kita.

The gold medal win was a moral booster, akin to winning the overall 2011 SEA Games. However, we ungratefully ask for a public holiday. We could not expect a given public holiday every time we win. If a public holiday is granted by virtue of our athletes' achievements, what can we (the rakyat) contribute in return, during the off day? Are we the ones who struggle to perform the best outfield?

There's nothing more emotional, euphoric and awesome than singing "Negaraku" during Malaysia's pre-match presentations; likewise, Italy's "Fratelli d'Italia." Indescribable! Patriotism, wherever we are should be displayed and respected accordingly, not just in sports. Be cultured and civilized. My heart goes to both Harimau Malaya and Gli Azzurri... Malaysia Boleh & Forza Azzurri!

Recovering from a gunshot means nothing if you are still underappreciated, ignored and unwanted. Worse still, people care little about you. It's better to be let die from the wound rather than self-depression; even that you will only be remembered nothing but a name that was once an acquaintance who crossed people's path, down to forgotten shame.

Observation and thought. In most towns nationwide I've been to, it seems that at least a homeless, wandering madman, or a lunatic can be spotted. A question mark with a silent exclamation "why?" wonders inside me. Perhaps I should talk and try to understand them rather than thinking of getting myself shot with .9mm Walther PPK gun or conspiring to overthrow the government in my utopian mind. Wonder why.

It's the last working day of 2011 and has been a tremendous year of successful transformation and performance for me. The long-term goal, which was initiated in January will continue to progress and will witness several turnarounds and positive outcomes. With the grace of Allah SWT, blessings from family, support from friends and colleagues, insya-Allah all would be well in 2012. Perhaps more creativity, personal development and achievements will prevail... and I need a life partner to complete my life :)

It's the last day of 2011 (or MMXI in Roman numerals). It is also the day where families will have fun and New Year revellers throng at celebration hotspots around the city at night. It is also the day where newspapers are publishing special supplements and features on 2011 retrospects. It is also the day where many of us will sit to reminisce the best and worst of the year, and planning for incoming 2012 resolution. Whatever today may be, always keep in mind that despite the felicitations and mishaps occurred in the past twelve months, these serve as constant reminders for us to be more diligent, wiser and tactful with our lives, especially in religious aspect. 2011 is a year of prosperity and opportunity to me. Many merries and a Happy New Year 2012 to everybody (celebrate responsibly!)
